One of the peculiarities of the city of San Francisco de Campeche is the tranquility of its sea, which has served as inspiration to many Campeche poets and writers. A Good example is the song “The Bride of the Sea” composed by Jose Narvaez Marquez which is the inspiration to this sculpture with the same name. It was sculpted in 1987 and after some relocations is now in the city promenade since 2004.
