It is connected to the Land Gate by an 8 meters high wall and a parapet walk on the upper part. The Access is made through the Land Gated and complements the visit with the Bastion of San Francisco.

It was built in 1698 as a defensive support system to the Land Gate, just like the other bastions and gates, it was connected through the sentry walk that surrounded the Villa de San Francisco de Campeche. Its walls are thick, and its four corners are crowned by watch towers. On the south side of the terrace there is still a bell that was used to alert the population in case of danger.
